If you’re contacting us regarding rehoming Bearded Dragons, RES, aquatic turtles or any box turtle/tortoise there is a few things you need to know. Since we are a small non profit organization relying on Foster families to care for all incoming animals, we request all incoming Bearded Dragons to be Atadenovirus (adenovirus) tested. This insures the safety of our Foster families’ collections. Unfortunately, legally PNWHS is not allowed to take in any Red-Eared sliders. As they are classified by the state as invasive. Additionally, we do not take in any aquatic turtles and recommend finding an aquatic turtle hobbyist group. Since June 2017, we have not taken in box turtles or tortoises due to space requirements and lack of adoption turnover of the ones currently in our foster system. This prohibition also includes Iguanas. Also due to space requirements, we suggest either returning to the pet store you obtained from, or contacting an Iguana hobbyist group.
Furthermore, please be aware with PNWHS depending on private foster homes for housing, lacking a dedicated facility; We will not always be able to take immediate receipt of your animal. There may be extended wait times associated with placing your animal.
Thank You for your understanding and patience.
